Ann Balon made her name as a jewellery designer before setting up her fashion label. Once on a trip to the beautiful Amalfi coast, Ann fell in love with the exquisite Italian lace, appliqué work, vivid colours and dressmaking techniques typical of the region. These became the source of her inspiration and the basis of her collections ever since. Ann and her team create designs with a classic timeless look, informed, but not dominated, by the latest trends and fashions. The focus is on luxurious fabrics, the elegant, flattering Ann Balon cut and fluid movement, subtly sparkling decorative appliqué or embroidered detail, and colour.

Every Ann Balon outfit is a labour of love, crafted in our “labaratorio” in the hills above magnificent Positano. Each piece is cut by hand, assembled by expert seamstresses with the appliqué work applied by hand. The completed ensemble is batch dyed and stone washed using traditional regional dyeing methods and pumice from Vesuvius. After dyeing, each piece is finished by hand and quality controlled. The whole fabrication process combines artisanal techniques, modern science and creative design.

Ann is not interested in the catwalk – she dresses real women for real life. The Ann Balon collections include designs suited to women of all sizes from petite to plus size. For the fuller figure, the plus size collection pays particular attention to flattering shape, sleeves and straps.

The Ann Balon collections are available at some of the premier independent boutiques and stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Recently we have entered international markets, including the United States and Australia. All our stockists are carefully selected and aim to offer outstanding customer service.
